How information is handled on the SurfAI website.

Contact and editor forms

Forms send your name, email address, message, and chosen area of interest to SurfAI’s club inbox. Use them for club correspondence, not medical records or sensitive personal information. Contact psun80@stuy.edu to ask about your message or request deletion.

The configured email delivery provider processes the message for delivery. The deployment guide requires the site operator to choose and configure that provider. Short-lived, hashed network-address records may be used to limit spam; they are kept outside the public site and expire after one hour.

Camera and uploaded images

The motion lab processes camera frames in your browser. The ingredient scanner and image lab process images locally. These images and video frames are not uploaded by the tools. Stop the camera to release its stream.

Third-party services

When activated, camera and OCR tools download code or model files from public CDNs. These providers receive standard network request information. Epsilon, Discord, YouTube, and other external resources have their own privacy policies. Fonts and page images are served locally.

View count

The website keeps an aggregate page-view total. It is not a unique-visitor count and does not identify readers. If the counter is unavailable, the interface clearly shows the archived total.

Educational use

The demonstrations are educational. They are not medical or veterinary advice, validated diagnostic systems, or a guarantee that an output is correct.
