More pixels ≠ more evidence.
Nearest-neighbor resampling copies the nearest source pixel. Smoothing blends neighboring pixels. Neither method reconstructs the scene’s missing information.
AI super-resolution uses a trained model to infer plausible detail. That can be useful, but inferred detail should not be treated as original evidence.
